we see ice all around us – you say ICE is for us

we see peaceful demonstrations into the frozen night – you say that is not our right

we see violence sowed against all of us – you say what is the fuss

we see our whole community with pride – you say you will give our neighbors a free ride

we see hard working people from another country – you say you will deport them to yet another country

we see resistance as our 1st amendment right – you say you will subdue us with military might

we see our right to vote for our choosing – you say funds our state will be losing

we see the division you continue to foment – you say we interfere with your torment

we see the fear you cause – you say you will continue without pause

we see thugs in masked attire – you say you want more agents of anarchy to hire

we see the detention of a five-year old – you say you will continue to hold

we see the removal of an elderly man into the cold – you say you were doing what you were told

we see children fleeing in fright – you say your law gives you the right

we see our friends staying out of sight – you say you will seek them out at night

we see our residents taking flight – you say this gives you delight

we see the chaos unfold right in front of every eye – you say the truth we must deny

we see our neighbors and friends thrown down on a cold street – you say you will not retreat

we see close-knit families torn apart – you say you are only doing your part

we see violence perpetrated on our community with impunity – you say you have absolute immunity

we see infringement of constitutional rights – you say you have the right

we see our residents ordered to comply – you say they don’t have the right to deny

we see weapons needlessly fired – you say you want more agents hired

we see people injured and killed for no crime – you say your surge will continue to the last dime

we see a world-wide cry for our countrymen – you say you will not accept responsibility for your mayhem

we see the day for accountability – then we will say whom is to answer for their culpability.
